(All kids welcome at either time, ages 6 - 13)
This hands-on program focuses on the visual arts, basic artmaking, and creativity, and is perfect for homeschooled and public school students alike. Students will learn different art techniques, mediums, and about art movements.

3:30-5:30 pm ages 7 - 12
Join us for art after school! Students will experience the ceramic process beginning with building original clay artworks, experimenting with clay tools to create textures, designs, and patterns. They will explore ceramic glazes to create color and character in their art! It’s the perfect creative outlet to wind down the day.

In this family friendly workshop, kids and adults will paint ceramic ornaments, and create some new core memories along the way. Ornaments will be fired in the kiln, and will be ready for pickup the following week to decorate for the Holidays!

ages 9-15
Learn how to use the interface for the digital program Krita, in this introductory course for young teens! Students will begin by creating a 2D image with the traditional paper and pencil before bringing their sketch onto the screen. Digitally explore the basic tools, and functions of creating and painting your sketch for a finished artwork you can download or print!

Friday, December 20th (1 day)
4:30 pm - 6:30 pm
ages 9-15
Expand on your digital painting skills by customizing your own digital paintbrush. Students will create unique painting effects by adjusting the painting settings on the Krita digital interface. After creating their brush, students will make digital abstract artworks inspired by Jackson Pollock to download or print.

Monday, January 20th
9:00am - 12:00pm, ages 6-13
This one day camp will create “Story Quilts” inspired by the historic civil rights artist Faith Ringgold, to honor and celebrate the holiday. Students will cut out their own patterns, assemble their designs, and learn to sew on decorations to complete their unique, liberty themed quilt.
(Full day option available for both MLK Jr. classes)

Friday January 20th
1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Settle into the afternoon with a Dream Dish! Students will use glass stones to create a dreamy pattern in the bottom of their clay bowls. Once fired in the kiln, the glass will melt to create a mini ocean!
(Full day option available for both MLK Jr. classes)
